There have been quite a few people who have wanted us to carry this picture frame moulding. It is used to stretch canvas on, either before painting or after painting. Most want this for stretching painted canvases on after they have been painted. Lots of people bring back painted pictures this way from Europe rolled up.

To use, measure your canvas and give us the total canvas picture size you need, measured from outside to outside. We then can cut this moulding into chops for you with mitered corners. Glue and nail them and your ready to stretch your canvas over the frame. (Others order straight cut ends and make their own corners.) There is a small lip on this moulding. This lip is very important and needs to be placed "up". Your canvas will be stretched over this lip. This lip is what stops your canvas paintings from being destroyed when the canvas moves. Many canvas paintings are destroyed after being mounted on plain pieces of wood brought at a lumber yard. The lip on this moulding holds the canvas away from the wood. Canvas paintings move in and out every time a door or window is opened in your house. Canvas paintings mounted on plain wood soon develops stress cracks unless properly mounted over canvas stretcher bar moulding like this one.
