Richard Plasschaert

Richard PlasschaertFor wildlife artist, Richard Plasschaert, nature is simply as close as his own backyard. A short walk will take you to the nearby woods, Moonan Marsh or the endless fields where area farmers toil throughout much of the year. All of this adds up to unlimited reference material for the professional artist.

Accuracy and attention to detail are Plasschaert trademarks. His original work and limited-edition prints are highly sought after by collectors. His signature on a state of conservation stamp insures strong sales.

Dick Plasschaert’s wildlife art career took off after his entry of "Two Mallards In Flight" was selected as the 1980-81 Federal Duck Stamp design. Overnight he joined the ranks of America’s top wildlife artists. Plasschaert likes to say that it took him twenty years to become an overnight success.

In addition to the 1980-81 Federal Stamp, he was chosen as the artists for the "first" North Dakota Duck Stamp, the "first" North Carolina Duck Stamp, the "first" New Hampshire Duck Stamp, the "first" Minnesota Conservation Federation Stamp and Print, the Louisiana Turkey Stamp and the National Turkey Stamp. Richard has also designed 7 other Conservation stamps and the 1988 New York Duck Stamp.

The name Plasschaert on a piece of art has become known as a sign of quality. We are convinced that Richard’s credentials will continue to grow and that his collectibility will grow even faster.
