Bob Ross used 14 colors of landscape oil paint colors to produce an endless variety of natural color combinations. These oil paints are specially formulated to a stiff but smooth consistency which is necessary for the Joy Of Painting wet on wet technique that he uses. These oil paints are thicker than the lighter oil paints that one usually sees available. These pigment rich colors, and stiff consistency are necessary to paint in the style that Bob Ross uses.
